Overview
The CFA Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for Community Forest planning and operations management, along with a portfolio of emerging project implementation and resource management projects.
Initial Tasks:
Duties will include:
-Harvest and road construction planning and implementation
-Planning budgeting and enabling efficient and quality work flow
-Leading and undertaking forest planning and permit development
-Silviculture program planning and implementation
-Effectively interacting and communicating with staff and public
-Supervision/training of junior staff and summer students
-Community outreach and communications
-Quality and Safety assurance of work in progress
-Helping to design and implement processes to guide operations
-Researching and implementing complimentary business opportunities
The Future:
For the right candidate this is a learning and growth position to General Manager as senior management changes and retires. This job would suit someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and diverse background in forest planning and operations.
Requirements:
-RPF or FIT eligible for registration or RFT
-Solid multi-year timber development, layout and log sales/purchase experience
-Reforestation and forest health program management experience
-Contract management experience
-Very computer literate developing budgets/ proformas/ tracking tools using common software used for project management, communication, surveying and mapping
-Physically fit, organized and professional
-Ability and ambition to learn and grow
Environment:
