This job is describing anything from the entry level position in stacking board to some of the most advanced positions in being a lumber inspector, or dry kiln operator.

Lumber handler– It is an entry level position; you would be stacking boards into their assigned pack in a neat and organized manner.

Equipment operator- This job consists of running the trimmer and/or edger saw. This job is either trimming the ends of boards or edging off the sides of the boards to improve the quality of the board. Experience is not a requirement to run these machines. These saws can be taught how to run and what you’re looking for on each board here at the mill.

Dry Kiln operator– This job is in control of all the dry kilns and drying all the lumber. We have 7 kilns that have a total of 420,000′ of drying space. This is a job does not require any experience.

Sawyer– With this job you’ll be required to run a circular saw by squaring up the log and making it into a cant. Experience not necessary it can be taught on site.

Lumber Grader-As a lumber grader you’ll be expected to know the NHLA rules. As a grader you’ll be expected to grade…

  • Green lumber
  • Kiln Dried Lumber
  • Rift and Quartersawn Lumber
  • Flat sawn Lumber
  • 4/4 & 5/4 lumber, rarely anything thicker than 5/4

At least 1 year of experience is required for this job.

Overview:

45 hour weeks:

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday 6:00 – 11:00am

15 min break at 9:00

30 min break at 12:00

At 3 months anniversary:

  • We pay 100% of health insurance for you and your family.
  • You get a raise, depending on attendance, attitude, and what you’re doing is how much your raise is.

At 6 Month anniversary:

  • Eligible to sign up for 401k, we match 2.5%.
  • PTO of 20 sick hours
  • Paid Holidays

At 1 year anniversary:

  • PTO of 50 vacation hours

At the end of December, if you don’t use your sick hours you’ll lose them. If you don’t use your vacation hours, you can carry thm over to the next year.
