We are currently looking for Timber Cruisers, or experienced technical forest workers to add to our team to work on our current forest development projects in the Smithers and Houston areas. A post-secondary education in forestry or environmental science is definitely an asset, but individuals with applicable work experience, a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work in very physically demanding conditions are very desirable characteristics.
Timber Cruiser – Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of the “Province of British Columbia Timber Cruising Manual” as well as practical field experience collecting timber cruise data. ABCFP cruiser designation is definitely an asset but not required. Assistance and support will be offered to any Timber Cruisers interested in pursuing their ABCFP designation. An understanding of the digital cruise plot procedure and the EOS equipment would also be a benefit. Experience in any of the items listed under Forest Development is a strong consideration.
Cruising Assistant – Applicants must possess a basic understanding Timber Cruising, and interest in working within the forest industry, and a willingness to learn. Strong consideration for attitude and work ethic will be given for these positions.
