Job Description


Our Opportunity (with location flexibility for you)

We are currently accepting resumes from motivated individuals who would like to join our team as a Planning Forester, primarily tasked with maintaining, developing and delivering forest management plans (FMP). Working with government staff, the forest tenure holders and our inhouse specialists, you will develop forest management objectives, model inputs, long-term management direction and operational plans for the land base. You will consult with First Nations, the local citizens committee, the general public and other stakeholders, while completing FMP text and tables and ensuring that all project deadlines are met.

Your strong inter-personal and communication skills will allow you to work effectively with our clients, First Nations, government staff and other forest stakeholders.

You understand the value of careful planning and solid project reporting. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will allow you to produce accurate information products and analyses for use by others in our forestry team. Finally, with the support of the forestry team, you will learn how to continuously refine your work approach and produce more cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications for this Position

  • Degree in forestry with R.P.F. status or the ability to obtain the designation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following forestry related fields:

o Forest management planning.

o Forest operations.

o Silviculture.

  • People call you a team player. They complement you on your analytical skills and you work well under pressure.
  • Your communication skills are refined, enabling you to work well with clients, the Government, First Nations, the general public and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel (valid drivers license)
