Currently Consus Management Ltd. is seeking Forest Professionals & Junior Forestry/ Environmental Technicians to work within its
Forestry/ Environmental divisions in both field and office settings. Summer student positions also available.
As a Forest Professional at Consus Management Ltd., your responsibilities will encompass:
- Planning and development of cable/ conventional road and harvest systems
- Preparation of Block and Road Site Plans, Harvest Plans, Cutting Permits/ Appraisals, Fuel Prescriptions, and other professional reports.
- Meticulous data management and quality control/assurance in both field and office settings
- Ensuring strict adherence to legal, regulatory, and client-specific requirements
- Effective supervision and training of field crew members
Qualifications for a Forest Professional:
- A deep-seated passion for the outdoors and a penchant for adventure
- Adaptability and self-awareness
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in road and cutblock layout, timber reconnaissance
- 2+ years of field/ staff supervision an asset
- Registration with the FPBC as either an RPF or RFT is preferred.
- A comprehensive understanding of forest policy, regulations, and guidelines
- Experience in road and cutblock layout, drafting site plans, harvest plans, cutting permit/ appraisals, riparian assessments, forest health, cruising, surveys, and wildfire management.
- Experience with ESRI platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- A strong thirst for knowledge and a commitment to continuous self-improvement
- Possess a valid BC Driver’s License.
As a Junior Forestry/ Environmental Technician at Consus Management Ltd., your responsibilities will encompass:
- Collaboration with experienced professionals to gain practical experience in the forestry and resource management industry.
- Participate in on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.
- Be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality resource management solutions.
- Work on a variety of duties based on current contractual obligations.
Qualifications for a Junior Forestry/ Environmental Technician:
- Physically fit and ready for fieldwork in various weather conditions.
- Possess a valid BC Driver’s License.
- Self-driven individuals capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A strong thirst for knowledge and a commitment to continuous self-improvement
- Passion for the outdoors
