We are currently seeking a qualified Forestry Equipment Operator who want to join our team for a rewarding career in utility vegetation management. On the job training from the ground up to the treetops through the Asplundh Canada Training Standard is completed with every employee. Through the ongoing training and advancement program to our proactive wage scale we’re continually growing our group of highly trained and qualified staff. This role will include operating Skidders and/ or Go-Tracs with Aerial Lifts attached to the them. This work, though primarily in the central and western area of Nova Scotia, could see work sites being in any part of Nova Scotia from time to time. This position will require working on the road with board allowance paid and accommodations taken care of.

  • MUST have chainsaw experience ground cutting smaller vegetation & directionally felling larger trees.
  • MUST have experience operating a cable/ grapple skidder or flex-track type machine on varying terrain.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract is essential.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, and Chainsaw Safety training would be an asset.
  • Chainsaw Safety, Bucking, and Felling near Powerlines or equivalent training would be an asset.
  • Able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
  • Own transportation to a common meeting area.
