Position Details: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Starting salary at $96,200, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with each individual’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Remote/Hybrid within Canada.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the National Manager of Sustainability, you will lead in delivering on the Forestry and Mining sector objectives within the Sustainability Solutions Business Unit at DUC. You will provide both strategic and technical leadership in development and execution of DUC’s strategy within the Forestry and Mining sectors.

Within the Forestry and Mining sectors, you will work to position DUC as a trusted business partner and science-based solution provider to industry members seeking sustainability outcomes that result in measurable environment benefits. You will build key strategic partnerships with government and private sectors leaders to identify and advance viable nature-based solutions to meet core ESG priorities. These same nature-based solutions help achieve DUC’s mission through conservation impact at scale.

In collaboration with other members of DUC’s Sustainability, Boreal Conservation, Science and Marketing and Communications teams, you will help position DUC as the conservation partner of choice for the Forestry and Mining sectors.


  • At least 5 years of experience in the Forestry and/or Mining sector with emphasis on sustainability
  • Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Proven track record of building strategic partnerships and strategic plans with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record working with the forestry and/or mining sector in the areas of sustainability including practitioners and leadership.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Sustainability in the context of ESG and priority themes
  • Demonstrated understanding of the sector’s key Sustainability and ESG drivers and factors influencing industrial value chains
  • Experience with market-based conservation instruments in the areas of carbon, biodiversity, and water
  • Demonstrated understanding of international and national sustainability and ESG trends
  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
