Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced Forester or Forestry Technician to join our team. You will play a vital role in managing and preserving hardwood forests and wildlife habitat on both private and public lands. You will be responsible for field-based work which involves implementing various conservation and sustainable forestry practices.

We’re willing to consider hiring full-time, part-time, OR on a temporary/contract basis. However, only full-time employees receive the full benefits of paid time off, medical insurance, and annual profit-share bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform invasive plant species management from April to October
  • Perform timber stand improvement/thinning operations from October to April
  • Assist with marking timber for harvest and overseeing logging operations
  • Track your work progress with GPS
  • Assist with general equipment and shop maintenance

Experience/Education:
Must have a four-year degree in “Forestry” or “Forest Management” to be hired on with the title of a “forester”. All other relevant environmental degrees will be considered for the title of “Forestry Technician”.

NOTE: Wages are not dependent upon title/degree; wages are dependent on the applicant’s amount of relevant forestry field experience. But some form of relevant, higher education, in addition to field experience, is required for consideration.

Physical Requirements:

This position is physically demanding and involves walking many miles daily, sometimes over rough/steep terrain, with 20-50 pounds of equipment/gear, in hot/cold outdoor temperatures. Candidate should be aware of the physical nature of the position and be in good physical shape/health.

Pay: $20.00 – $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
